Very Special Arts India (VSAI) is a Non-Profit Organisation working for the disabled and unprivileged young children of India. The educational, training and recreational facility offered by this organisation is free of cost which also includes remedial therapies like music, dance, visual art and craft.
Using arts as a tool for social, emotional, educational and vocational rehabilitation, VSAI creates a platform for these young children to live a life of self-esteem and facilitate them a smooth transition to enter mainstream of society. The aim of the organisation is to create an inclusive community for children with physical and mental disability and make them economically self reliant by providing them vocational training based on their interest and ability.
1. Activity Centre:
This includes fostering inclusion by offering classes in arts, pottery, dance, music and drama. The organisation also offers functional education and vocational training skills to children who are not academically inclined.2. Computer Training:
This involves facilitating computer lab to special students where they can learn various computer skills using variety of special software designed for special needs. This acts as informal earning cum fun for students.3. Vocational training:
Through this programme VSAI imparts vocational skills to special children, youth and adults as per their interest and ability. They are also regularly assessed for their interest and over time the trainees become proficient enough to generate income from the skills learnt. The skills offered at the centre includes weaving, pottery making, candle making, stitching and other skills.
