The Indian Council for Mental Health is a Mumbai based Non-Government Organisation which believes in the saying that special children need special schools. It is functional since 1953 and is one of the oldest NGO in India and had focus on counselling and psychiatrist till 1990 when it started providing special education to disabled children and also therapeutical services. The support for autism in india organisation is striving hard by training and providing education to special kids so that they can reach the mainstream schools and lead a normal life like other children.
This is one of the first organisation to provide animal assisted therapy to the people of Navi Mumbai. ICMH provides specialized services through its school program – Skills and Ability at Mulund for children with developmental disabilities like Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy etc
