Ingraham Asha Vidyalaya, an unit of Ingraham Institute is specially designated to cater to the needs of special children such as mentally or physically disabled (Autism, Developmental delays, Learning Disabilities, Behavior Disorders,Health Impairment, etc )and hearing impaired. The school has two separate accommodations, one for hearing impaired and the other for mentally and physically disabled children.
The children and young adults with mental disabilities in the school undergo detailed assessment at the time of admission and an IEP (Individual Education Plan) is designed and monitored. The IEP is also discussed with their parents and re-assessed periodically based on improvement and requirement. Periodic reports and parental discussion helps to maintain communication, coordination and motivation.
Vocational training and computer education is provided to the individuals to make them self-reliant and independent. Tailoring and cutting fabrics are taught to girls students at the school. The education and vocational training skills provided is as per age and group level formulated by Rehabilitation Council of India.
