Akshay Pratishthan which was set up as an inclusive set up for inclusion of children with special needs has now turned into a Rehabilitative Centre supporting more than 450 children. The school caters to children with almost any kind of disability and integrate them with normal kids where they play and learn together from Nursery to class 8th.
The school has well trained teachers who make use of technology and sports to make inclusive and healthy education a reality which helps in overall development of any child. Students who cannot continue in a regular school after class 8th are offered NIOS curriculum to take up 10th &12th std exams through NIOS Board.
2. Special Wing:
Special wing of Akshay Pratishthan has started two programmes which offer special education to children in the age range of 5 to 10years and The Open Basic Education Programme offering education to children belonging to any section of society, the hearing impaired and mentally retarded to take class 3, 5 & 8th std exams of NCERT curriculum.
3. Special Study Centre IGNOU:
Akshay Pratishthan in collaboration with IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) provides BA(Bachelor of Arts), BPP(Bachelor of Preparatory Programme) & CIC (Certificate in Computing) Programmes diploma courses to students to take up higher education.
4. Medical Facility & Therapy:
Medical facility is provided to physically challenged children and necessary aid, physiotherapy and occupational therapy is also provided to make the disabled children physically fit and involve them in activities of daily life.
5. Vocational Training:
Akshay Pratishthan runs several pre-vocational and vocational training programmes from class 5 onwards to make them earn their living. These skills are imparted as part of their curriculum, i.e. every child after class 5 has to select one of the vocation as their regular subject. Vocations like cutting & tailoring, beauty culture, electrical, home science, computers, etc are offered to students.
